What happens during a sweep?

With a stove sweep, we give the stove and glass a complimentary clean while we are there. You do not need to describe how dirty they are when booking. The optional full stove service covers separate checks of accessible components.

Protect and prepare

We take care around your fireplace and prepare the area before sweeping.

Sweep the flue

Professional sweeping equipment removes soot and deposits from the accessible flue.

Finish and explain

We clear the debris, give the stove and glass a complimentary clean where there is a stove, issue your certificate and explain any concerns we find.

When to call us

Based in Basingstoke, we cover nearby towns by appointment. See our Basingstoke service or choose your area.

Book a sweep if your chimney is due for maintenance, the fire is drawing poorly or you have noticed soot or debris. If you suspect a nest or blockage, let us know before the appointment so we can assess the right approach.

Questions before booking your chimney sweep

How often should my chimney be swept?

HETAS recommends at least twice a year when burning wood and at least once a year for smokeless fuels. The right interval also depends on use, the appliance and the deposits found. Follow your appliance instructions and discuss a suitable schedule at the visit. Read the HETAS guidance.

What is included in the £70 sweep?

A standard power chimney sweep and HETAS sweeping certificate. For stove sweeps, a complimentary stove and glass clean is included. CCTV inspection, full servicing, nest removal and repairs are separate options. Compare prices.

What should I do before the appointment?

Let the fire and appliance cool fully, clear the area around the fireplace and move fragile items nearby. Mention any access restrictions, unusual fireplace arrangement or suspected blockage when arranging the visit.
