If you are enquiring for New Alresford or Old Alresford, include the village name as well as the postcode. Tell us how many chimneys need attention and which appliance each flue serves. Separate fireplaces can need different access arrangements, even at the same property.
Planning a visit to an established fireplace
New Alresford has a historic centre with listed buildings. The age or appearance of a house does not tell us whether its chimney is lined, in use or suitable for a particular appliance. A photograph of the hearth, stove and flue connection helps us discuss the visit without making assumptions about the fireplace.
For ordinary maintenance, ask for a chimney sweep. If you have inherited a fireplace with an uncertain history, say how long it has been unused and whether you have any previous sweeping records. A CCTV inspection can provide a view of the accessible flue; we can discuss it separately or alongside the sweep.
For a stove, a complimentary stove and glass clean is included with sweeping. Checks of accessible seals, glass and firebricks form part of the separate basic stove service. A combined service and sweep is £100, with replacement parts discussed separately.
